Le sens du goût a sa subjectivité ; les amateurs ne sont pas tous attirés par les mêmes arômes ni les mêmes puissances. La dégustation doit être un moment de plaisir : un credo qui a fait de Gérard, l’une des références dans le monde du cigare. Depuis 3 générations, la famille se consacre au conseil des meilleurs produits. C’est grâce à la passion et à la volonté que la marque s’est développée. Les années 80 ont vu apparaître la création de la première boutique au monde dédiée entièrement aux cigares faits main.
Les cigares Gérard se répartissent en trois familles : Édition, Private et Limited faites d’assemblage de feuilles de tabac provenant de différents pays d’Amérique Centrale, donnant à chacun ses formats exclusifs, sa personnalité et ses connotations gustatives. À l’heure actuelle, on apprécie les blends plus corsés et gouteux. Pour preuve, l’Édition numéro 12 d’un cepo de 68 est en vogue : il est accompagné de son mode d’emploi pour le savourer de la meilleure manière.
Où, quand, comment déguster son cigare parfait ? « Chacun a son instant de Graal : parfois, c’est en coupant ses rosiers. Pour d’autres, en s’installant dans son salon de lecture. » Les connaisseurs peuvent avoir leur cigare phare qui les accompagne toute une vie, ce qui peut amener à une certaine lassitude.
